Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage

Available to book at our Bude & Wadebridge Studios…

The Renata França Method is a unique and highly effective Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage technique known for delivering immediate results. It combines firm pressure, fast-paced movements, exclusive pumping techniques, and specialized maneuvers to sculpt the body, reduce swelling, and enhance circulation. This method works by stimulating a complex network of vessels, helping to drain excess fluids, activate blood flow, and minimize cellulite, leaving the body less bloated, more contoured, and with a boosted metabolism. The result? A visibly toned figure and an overall sense of lightness and well-being.

The benefits of

Renata França lymphatic drainage:

→ It “deflates” the figure and fights

water retention

→ It eliminates toxins

→ It relieves heavy legs

→ It reduces bloating

→ It fights cellulite

→ It improves blood circulation

→ It strengthens the immune system

→ It improves metabolic function

How is this method of lymphatic drainage different to a traditional lymphatic drainage massage ?

Whilst the main fundamental aspect of lymphatic massage is to stimulate the lymphatic system and thereby release toxic build up, the Renata França approach differs in the technique and pressure applied .

Main differences include:

1: Technique : While traditional lymphatic massage uses light, circular movements to

stimulate lymphatic flow, the Renata França method uses more vigorous , sweeping methods.

2. Pressure : Lymphatic massage uses very light pressure to move the lymphatic fluid, white Renata França method uses deeper pressure to achieve the same effect.

3. Areas of Focus: traditional lymphatic focuses on the full body , while the Renata França method is more focused on specific areas of the body ( the legs and abdomen ) .

4. Conditions treated: traditional lymphatic is excellent of injury recovery as well as post- surgery. The Renata França method is often used for reducing cellulite and body contouring.

Aftercare…

What to avoid after your Lymphactic Drainage Massage…

1 – Strenuous Exercise

Heavy exercise might feel tempting if you’re energised after your massage, but it can put unnecessary strain on your body. The lymphatic system works best when supported by gentle, rhythmic movement as opposed to high-intensity workouts.

➤ Instead – Opt for lighter activities such as walking or some light yoga for the first 24 hours.

2 – Alcohol

Alcohol is a diuretic – it dehydrates your body. This makes it harder for your lymphatic system to flush out toxins, and can contribute to inflammation and slower recovery times.

➤ Instead – Stick to water or herbal teas to support detoxification and keep your body hydrated.

3 – Caffeine

Caffeine can also dehydrate you and put added stress on your circulation. A small cup of coffee should be fine, but we recommend limiting caffeine for the first 24 hours after you massage. This will give your lymphatic system a chance to work effectively.

➤ Instead – Opt for caffeine-free alternatives like rooibos tea or fruit-infused water.

4 – Junk Food

Highly processed foods (such as crisps, ready meals and sugary snacks) are high in salt, sugar and unhealthy fats. This can make your body retain fluid, increase inflammation and counteract the detoxifying benefits of your lymphatic drainage massage.

➤ Instead – Switch out the processed meals with whole foods such as fresh fruit and veg, whole grains, and lean protein.

5 – Hot Baths or Saunas

Heat can be relaxing – however, hot baths or saunas can lead to dizziness, fatigue and sweating as your blood vessels dilate. After lymphatic drainage massage, your body needs time to balance fluid movement, so avoid excessive exposure to heat after treatment.

➤ Instead – Take a lukewarm shower or use warm (not hot!) compresses if you want comfort and relaxation.

6 – Tight Clothing

Tight and restrictive clothing can limit circulation and press against your lymph nodes, which can reduce the effectiveness of your massage.

➤ Instead – Swerve the skinny jeans and tight shapewear and opt for loose, breathable clothing that allows your body to move freely and recover comfortably.

Aftercare Tips to Support Recovery

Now you know what to avoid, let’s explore some steps to take to enhance your results:

● Keep well-hydrated – Drink plenty of water to help your body flush toxins and support lymphatic flow.

● Eat a nourishing diet – Consume anti-inflammatory foods like leafy greens, berries, and omega-3 rich fish.

● Get enough rest – Give your body time to recover by getting a full night’s sleep.

● Light movement – For the first 24 hours only walking or light stretching to help keep lymph fluid moving without overloading the system.

Benefits of

Post-Lymphatic Drainage Care

When you look after your body following a lymphatic massage, you’ll notice better, longer-lasting results.

Some benefits of looking after your body post-massage include:

● 1. Longer-lasting results (be sure to follow the tips above)

● 2. Reduced discomfort (hydration and rest help prevent fatigue or headaches)

● 3. Better circulation (avoiding caffeine and alcohol ensures your blood and lymph flow efficiently)

How to keep stimulating your lymphatic system at home
